Swimming suspension due to 2nd lockdown
Posted by Riley Balecke on 3 November 2020
Dear Swimmers, Parents and Guardians
Regretably, the Blue Pool must close in line with government restrictions, from the evening of Wednesday 4th November. This means that there will be no MASC swimming sessions in the month of November. Hopefully, national restrictions will be eased, and the pool will be allowed to re-open on Wednesday 2nd December. If that is the case, then MASC swimming, for those currently able to swim, will re-start on Thursday 3rd December and Saturday 5th December.
Although we’ve only had three weeks so far in which the club has been active, it’s been wonderful to see so many of our younger and older swimmers putting in loads of effort, listening to the coaches and still smiling, despite a few aches and pains after such a long time away. Thank you to all swimmers and their parents for sticking to the new rules and bearing with us as we try to take on board new advice and regulations from all sides. The Blue Pool have been very happy with the way we have run the sessions, so we hope that not long after a restart they will allow us to bring back at least some of our Teach To Swim swimmers.
For those currently swimming, Standing Orders will have been switched over to £24 per month for November. With apologies for the inconvenience, we would ask you to switch them back to the ‘lockdown rate’ of £3.50 per swimmer for December. We will then count your November payments of £24 for December (or for later if lockdown is extended).
We hope to see you all back at the pool very soon.
